Each PC or web server is run by an Operating System - the low-level software which communicates with the hardware equipment, including peripherals such as a mouse or a printer, and any apps that are currently installed on your system. Any program input using a command line or a Graphical User Interface (GUI) is processed by sending an Application Program Interface (API) request to the OS. On a server, each and every application runs within the parameters defined by the OS as well - priority, physical memory, processing time, etc. This is valid for both standard Internet site scripts and server-side software such as a media server. In case a virtual server is generated on a physical one, there can be two different Operating Systems, called guest OS and host OS, so that you can set up a different software environment on the same machine.

Multiple OS in VPS Servers

We offer as many as 3 different Linux releases for the Operating System of our VPS servers - Debian, CentOS and Ubuntu. These are among the most stable and reliable OSs you can find and we provide all three rather than only 1 as we realize that you might want to install some software with specific requirements for the Operating System it will run on. The latter is because each of the three Operating Systems has a large support community behind it and there are different software applications you can install on the hosting server. Your OS selection will also determine exactly what hosting Control Panel can be set up on the VPS if you want to use one and that is why we offer several Control Panels as well. In case you decide that you want a different OS, our technical support can quickly wipe the current one and set up the one that you want. We also offer an optional service to keep the OS on your VPS updated weekly.

Multiple OS in Dedicated Servers

The dedicated servers that we offer can be installed with as many as three different Operating Systems as we want to give you more versatile plans which will enable you to install and run any kind of web software regardless of its system requirements. Your options are CentOS, Debian and Ubuntu and these 3 OSs are among the most dependable and safe ones, not mentioning that they do not have any license charges. All three have a large number of developers that have created countless software packages that you'll be able to install and use on your web server. We also offer three hosting Control Panels and which one you can use depends on the Operating System that you choose when you register. If you need some other OS afterwards, it won't be a problem since we can always reinstall your machine. With our Managed Services package we could also keep your OS secure by upgrading it on a weekly basis with any patches which are released for it.
